I’m torn between different Phong Nha cave tours-can anyone recommend a reliable operator? I’m interested in Paradise Cave, Dark Cave, and Tiger Cave, but want a package that includes transfers, meals, and equipment rental. Which company had the best guides and safety standards? Did you feel the group size was too big or just right? Also, how long does each cave visit last, and is there enough time for zipline or boat rides? I’m traveling with a small group of friends who have varying fitness levels-any advice on which tour is most suitable for all?

If you want Paradise Cave + Dark Cave as a chillax fun day thhen book a small group all inclusive combo as most of the decent outfits include hotel pickup, lunch, entrance fees and the basic kit (helmets, lifejackets, sometimes kayaking gear).
Paradise cave is the easy scenic one on boardwalks so it’s great for mixed fitness levels while dark cave is the messy one with zipline, mudbath and kayaking so you can expect more physical stuff and a longer activity window. you can do both of these without guide. just arrange for a transport or rent a bike (best!) to reach there and you are good to go
Well tiger cave tour in phong nha is offered only by jungle boss as they have got rights to that cave exactly how only oxalis has the right for son doong cave.
and yep they have everything included from meals and equipment to hotel pickup and drop off.
as for fitness level, read the requirement on their tour page of website. they have easy, hard, strenous etc kind of levels. I would just call directly to confirm.
and don’t take it lightly, tiger cave does have a lot of trekking to reach there.
you can also choose easier ones like mada lake/ elephant cave Or tu lan 1 day tour.

do self guided yourself and major tours you can do with both oxalis and jungle boss.
both have high ratings on tripadvisor and google maps.
In the end it will come down to how many days you want to spend in Phong Nha and your budget. then select the tour based on that. both have pretty adventurous tours from Son doong cave to Tiger cave!
