I’ve booked a boat tour to Phong Nha Cave but realized I don’t really know what to expect from the experience. How long does the boat ride typically last and what’s the actual cave exploration like? I’m hoping for some beautiful limestone formations but wondering if it gets crowded with tour groups all arriving at the same time. My main concern is whether there’s enough time to really appreciate the cave or if it feels rushed. I love photography so ideally want some opportunities to take decent shots without holding up the group. Also curious about what to bring - do I need a waterproof bag for my camera or are the boats pretty dry? Has anyone been recently who can share what the current experience is like and any tips for making the most of the tour?

just go without expectations, trust me!
boat ride is short around 20-30 minutes max.
Nah, no waterproof bag needed but honestly I would keep one just because of rain at times. Are you planning in rainy season? which is actually now haha
Do not expect the level of unexplored experience you might get from exclusive cave tours of oxalis/jungle boss though and it will be a bit touristy.
but still I think its worth it, I found the cave quite pretty ngl!!
