I’m curious about the Phong Nha cave boat ride inside Phong Nha Cave itself-how long is the boat trip and what scenery does it cover? Are the boats large or small rowboats? Does the ride include commentary or is it silent? Is it suitable for kids and elderly travelers? How often do boats depart, and will I need to wait in line during peak season? Any advice on where to sit for the best views and whether to bring water and snacks on board?

on serious note, most boatmen dont speak enough english for commentary. You would mostly be chatting with other backpackers in phong nha on this short trip
I didnt have to wait but then I didn’t go in peak season so not sure.
But what I know is, people wait for others so the boat fills up to max capacity so the cost is divided. if you don’t care or you are elon musk, then sure you can book the boat for yourself alone but gotta pay a lot.
its not a huge boat man. just sit wherever. also its a short ride to the phong nha cave. so just enjoy the ride. but if you insist then I guess at the front would be the best

well there will be dozen of boats waiting at the boat station and you hop on one of them, wait for it to fill and then they take you to the phong nha cave.
thats it. there is no commentary or anything.
i personally liked dark cave more than phong nha cave but then i prefer adventure more than sightseeing so that could be it
