How many days should I spend in Phong Nha?

How many days would you recommend staying in Phong Nha to experience its best?
I want to see the famous caves, but I also don’t want to rush or miss out on local experiences like exploring the countryside or river which I saw a lot of people on reddit recommending.

If you had a few days there, what was your itinerary and would you have changed anything? Did you find two days enough, or is it better to stretch your visit to 3-4 days if possible?

I would say 3 days are enough in phong Nha if you are just looking for 1 day of relaxation, 1 day of caves tour like phong nha cave, paradise, dark and one day of doing phong nha loop by motorbike.

if you want more adventure try Hang En or son doong cave if you can afford hehe
I would personally suggest hung thoong for jungle camping, trekking and cave swimming all in one :troll:

would say 3 days is the sweet spot, 4 if you want to take it slow and soak in the countryside without feeling like you’re in a race through a cave museum. maybe stay on phong nha farmstay?

its worth it imo

When I went, I originally planned for 2 days which was a big mistake. I ended up adding another night because I didn’t want to leave. you wouldn’t either

it depends, Phong Nha is very well-known for caves so if you are really into caving then should spend at least 3 days, says 2 days for a jungle trek and cave, and 1 day to explore around by yourself visiting Paradise/Phong Nha cave or DuckStop could be a good fit.

After reading other replies to my last thread I think 3 days are not enough for me -_-

I am considering Kong collapse or tu lan cave tour in phong nha both of which are 4 days trek and camping. I am fit enough so that shouldn’t be a problem.

just worried about leeches and pooping in the jungle because have a non sensical fear of snake biting me in the ass when doing the deed in open :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:
