I’m trying to figure out train connections from Hoi An to Phong Nha for my upcoming trip. From what I can gather, there’s no direct train so I’d need to connect through Da Nang or maybe even further north? Has anyone done this journey by train recently? I know buses are probably more straightforward but I really enjoy train travel when possible and have extra time in my schedule. If the train connections are too complicated I might just take a bus, but wanted to explore all options first. Also wondering about overnight train options if that would make the journey more efficient. My dates are flexible so I can work around train schedules if there’s a good connection route. Any advice from experienced travelers who have navigated Vietnam’s rail system would be really appreciated.
