I’m planning my Phong Nha itinerary and keep seeing the botanical gardens mentioned but can’t find much detailed information about what to expect there. Is it actually worth dedicating half a day to or is it one of those tourist traps that sounds better than it is? I love nature and plants but also don’t want to waste time if it’s just a small collection of common species. My partner is really into photography so if there are unique orchids or interesting wildlife that would make it more appealing. How long should we plan to spend there and is it easy to get around on foot? Also wondering about entrance fees and whether there are guided tours available or if it’s better to explore independently. Any recent visitors who can share their honest opinion about whether it lived up to expectations?

Botanic Garden = small jungle hike + waterfall + orchids; go in the morning, bring good shoes and a dry bag. totally worth a half day if you like nature photos. its only 2$ for entrance fees.
and I think botanic garden is the cheapest phong nha tour you can find!
entrance fee is very cheap compared to other activities, but it’s a very short hike. Fun thing is you might encounter some animals and birds along the way tho, which is my fav
