Accommodation In Phong Nha - Homestay Vs Hotel?

For anyone who’s stayed in both homestays and hotels in Phong Nha, which did you prefer and why? Did homestays offer better local interaction and breakfasts, or were hotels more comfortable and cleaner? How did prices compare? Was noise or privacy an issue at homestays? Did you feel safer in a hotel when coming back late from cave tours? Any specific recommendation for a mid-range budget stay would help me book the right place.

phong nha is a remotish town in Vietnam so most hotels are kind of like homestay as in run by families.

just read google/tripadvisor reviews and u will be fine.
I have stayed in hotels in phong nha as cheap as $6 a day and there was no compromise in cleanliness. only it was quite simple.

if I were you I would try to stay a day in farm stay type of accomodation.

can also try jungle boss travelodge

most of the accommodations there are homestays, for me personally I like homestays better since it ran by authentic locals, they are kind, very helpful and always smile. Check out Carambola bungalow and Son River homestay, mid-range budget
